Performers:

TAMARA CISŁOWSKA

Tamara Cisłowska began her career at an early age, studying piano with her mother. Aged six, she became the youngest student at the Sydney Conservatorium.

Ms Cisłowska has been a major prizewinner at various Australian and international piano competitions. As a recitalist, she has performed in London, Amsterdam and at the Concert Hall of the Sydney Opera House. She has performed as soloist with six major Australian philharmonic orchestras as well as with several world philharmonic orchestras.

MACIEJ  PAWELA

Maciej Pawela began his piano training from the age of 7 and completed his formal education with Honours from the University of Music in Katowice. During his studies, he received several prizes, as well as a scholarship from the Frederic Chopin Society in Warsaw.
He has performed as a soloist and in chamber music in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Italy, Holland and Australia.

Since migrating to Australia in 1982, he has recorded for, amongst others, ABC Radio, 2MBS FM Radio and Newsworld Channel 7.

He currently teaches at his private studio in Sydney’s North Shore, at Sydney Grammar School and is also associated with the Music Department at UNSW.

GREGORY – GRZEGORZ  KINDA

Gregory Kinda began his music career from an early age, being taught by his mother, a music teacher. He completed his studies at the University of Music in Katowice, obtaining his Master of Arts degree in 1999. Gregory continued his post-graduate studies in the Academy of Music in Gdansk, Poland and in Oslo, Norway. He returned to Sydney in 2000.

From 2001 to 2006 he was a piano teacher at the Australian International Conservatorium of Music in Harris Park, NSW.

Currently, Gregory Kinda is studying the music of Frederic Chopin, for his Phd at the University of Sydney, Conservatorium of Music.  Gregory is studying under Gerard Willems, and will be performing the works of Chopin on a Stuart&Sons piano. Gregory teaches piano at the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Conservatorium in Penrith, NSW.

Gregory has performed many concerts and recitals in Australia, Poland, Norway, Germany, Russia, the Czech Republic, Japan and Papua New Guinea. He also participated in several international competitions.

ROBERT CURRY

Dr Robert Curry received his musical training at the NSW State Conservatorium of Music; the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music, Warsaw; and at the State University of New York, Stony Brook, where he studied for four years under the American pianist-scholar, Charles Rosen.
Before returning to Sydney in December 2006 to take up the position of Principal of the Con High, he had been Head of Classical Music at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. In addition to his Conservatorium position he is an Honorary Senior Lecturer in the Centre for Medieval Studies, University of Sydney.

 

In addition to the pianists, other  instrumentalists and vocalists will also be performing the works of Chopin at this concert.
